Are You Maximizing Your Time?
Time management can be a difficult skill for even the best entrepreneurs. People often go to extreme measure to gain extra productivity time, but it is not necessary to cut back on things like sleep and exercise to get the most out of the day. Putting business ahead of health is a blind spot that we are all often guilty of.
It is often the case that we are doing too much of the wrong things, not that we aren’t doing enough. With 24 hours in a day and 168 hours in a week, it is necessary to properly invest your time. Time that is invested properly may very well feel like 26 hours, whereas time wasted will end up feeling like a lot less than 24.
Make a game plan
Plan your week in advance and set up how you will invest your time. It is a good idea to plan out your next 24 hours each night. Measurement equals motivation – it’s about working smarter, not harder.
List all the usual tasks that occur in your typical day. Schedule your non-negotiables first: family time, fitness, recovery, and nutrition. You are your most important client and scheduling those non-negotiables will keep you happy, healthy, and working your best. Everyone is given the same amount of hours in a day – your competitive advantage is knowing how to use them.
As the great American philosopher Ice Cube likes to say: “Check yourself before you wreck yourself.”
